The Czech Army has taken over the first 65 Toyota Hilux off-road vehicles, which are to gradually replace the obsolete UAZ and Land Rover cars.
In November last year, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the supply of Toyota Hilux off-road vehicles. In March, control tests were successfully completed and then military tests will begin, the Ministry of Defense informed on Twitter.
The Ministry of Defense has set as one of its priorities the replacement of Soviet technology with modern vehicles. It sought to scrap the obsolete UAZ and also Land Rover Defender off-road vehicles. Now the winner of the tender is already known - Toyota Hilux cars, at a price of 893 thousand CZK per piece.
