The international military health service exercise Vigorous Warrior 2019 was held from 8th till 12th April in Romania - 13 migrants from Iraq were found in a back of a van driven by a Latvian man - Major General Jaromír Zůna, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, became chairman of FINABEL’s Army Chiefs of Staff Committee - On 9th and 10th April Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar visited Armenia - The 12th Guard Company BAF (Bagram Airfield) relieved the 11th Company at the Bagram Base, Afghanistan.

  • 25 specialists from the Military Veterinary Institute at Hlučín and from the Military Health Institute - Biological Defence Centre at Techonin together with other specialists from health centers of the NATO member and partner states took part in the international exercise Vigorous Warrior 2019 from 8th till 12th April, in four Romanian locations (Black Sea port Konstanca or Bucharest metro).

  • 13 migrants from Iraq, including children, were found in a back of a van driven by a Latvian man, stopped and searched by the Police on the D1 highway in Vysočina region.  The driver has been arrested and is held in custody. Some of the migrants were sent back to Slovakia, some are staying at a migrant detention center. According to the Police, the migrants travelled from Romania to the UK.
  • On 16th and 17th April the European Army Interoperability Centre – FINABEL (an organisation promoting cooperation and interoperability between the national armies of the member states of the European Union) held its annual conference in Malta. The Czech Army was represented by Major General Jaromír Zůna, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, who became chairman of FINABEL’s Army Chiefs of Staff Committee for the next 12 months.
  • On 9th and 10th April Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar visited Armenia. He had a call with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Defence Minister David Tonoyan and representatives of the National Assembly in Yerevan. The discussions focused on the development of bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the region. The Defence Ministers also signed an intergovernmental agreement on military technical cooperation.

  • On 16th April the soldiers of the 12th Guard Company BAF (Bagram Airfield) relieved the 11th Company at the Bagram Base, Afghanistan. They will carry out security measures in the northern part of Bagram, Parwan Province, within joint operations with American, Afghan and othr partners. Their goal is to deflect hostile activities against the allied base. The last 38 members of the 11th Guard Company BAF including the company commander Captain Miroslav Maixner have returned back home on 18th April after 6 months of service in Afghanistan.
