The International Defence and Security Technologies Fair IDET is a unique presentation of defence and security technologies in Central Europe and an important pro-export platform for the Czech defence and security industry.

"The current international political situation shows very realistically that investing in one's own security and defence is constantly necessary and must be done systematically and with maximum emphasis on the latest technologies. IDET is a unique opportunity for domestic manufacturers to get in touch with representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Czech Army, especially now that key modernisation projects are underway, where the involvement of Czech companies is more than necessary," notes Deputy Minister Tomáš Kopečný on the importance of the participation of the Ministry of Defence at the fair.

The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and the Czech Army are traditionally the largest exhibitors. The themes of this year's MoD and the Czech Armed Forces exposition are the modernisation of the armed forces and 30 years since the first foreign operation in which Czech soldiers were involved.

The section dedicated to modernisation will present the latest technology and the main directions of development of new capabilities of the Czech Army. Among the modern equipment, it will be possible to see the new Toyota Hilux off-road vehicles, which will definitely replace the outdated UAZ and Land Rover vehicles in the coming years. Also on display will be modern RBS-70NG anti-aircraft missile complexes, which the soldiers took over last autumn, or new Pandur wheeled combat vehicles in command and staff special and communications versions, which last year reinforced the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade and replaced the former communications equipment. The last unit was delivered in the first decade of December 2020.

The motto of the next two parts of the indoor exhibition will be new types of challenges (the Covid-19 pandemic, the growth of tensions in crisis areas and international terrorism) and new capabilities of the armed forces - a part dedicated to cyber security (presentation of the Cyber Forces and Operations Command) and the deployment of the Czech Army in the fight against Covid-19. The so-called Centres of Excellence specialising in capabilities such as protection against weapons of mass destruction (CBRN), logistics education and training within the Alliance (MLCC) and multinational air training (MATC) will also be presented.

The historical excursion will include the oldest chemical reconnaissance vehicle that the Czech soldiers had in the Persian Gulf (1990-1991), now on display at the Military History Institute (BRDM2RCH amphibious, special, armoured vehicle of the Radiation and Chemical Reconnaissance Squad), as well as the current modern Iveco light armoured vehicle (LOV) for chemical specialists.

The history of foreign missions will also be revisited with a film projection on a large screen in the indoor exhibition in Hall P and an exhibition in the outdoor area K. Here it will also be possible to visit the field hospital with an ambulance and operating theatre.

Traditionally, dynamic demonstrations will be available every day on the polygon - IDET ARENA. This time, members of the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion from Prostějov and members of the University of Defence will present demonstrations of the Commandos tactical group. There will also be a stand for recruitment into the armed forces, presentations of the Castle Guard, the Honour Guard of the Czech Armed Forces and the Geographical Service of the Czech Armed Forces.

Many Czech and foreign defense industry companies will present their products, including the vehicle manufacturer TATRA TRUCKS which will present several versions of its Tatra Force and Tatra Tactic vehicles, which form the backbone of its production for the Czech Armed Forces. EXCALIBUR ARMY from Šternberk will present the technological demonstrator of the DITA 155 mm self propelled artillery system. TATRA DEFENSE VEHICLE will present a prototype of the armored vehicle TITUS 6x6, which was created in cooperation with TDV, TATRA TRUCKS and the French armory Nexter.
