The projects of the Slavičín branch of the Military Technical Institute of Armaments and Ammunition include 7.62 mm (ZSRD 07) and 12.7 mm (ZSRD 08) caliber weapon stations. It is a light remote-controlled weapon system, designed for wheeled or tracked vehicles. Their construction is based on a U-shaped manipulator, into which the weapon mount is integrated with a sensor container, containing a surveillance TV camera, an aiming TV camera, an IR camera and a laser rangefinder. It is possible to integrate 6 smoke grenade emitters or a sensor of the radiation detection and identification system (SDIO) for both types of weapon stations.

The 12.7 mm caliber weapon station was used, for example, on the Iveco LMV light armored vehicle of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. For the Army of the Czech Republic, VTÚVM Slavičín will install 7.62 mm caliber weapon stations on LOV-Pz reconnaissance vehicles of the 13th Artillery Regiment and on S-LOV-CBRN vehicles at the 31st Regiment of Radiological, Chemical and Biological Protection.

7,62 mm Weapon Station

ZSRD 07 Weapon Station is designed to be equipped with the 7.62 mm machine gun mount for the 7.62 x 54 mm or 7.62 x 51 mm ammunition. ZSRD 07 frame is based on the U-type manipulator with integrated weapon mount including sensor container comprising surveillance TV camera, aiming TV camera and IR camera, optionally may be fitted with the laser rangefinder. ZSRD 07 features userfriendly interface, HW and SW structures for easy control and command by gunner-operator.

ZSRD 07 is a light remotely controlled weapon system designed to be integrated to wheeled or tracked vehicles, especially to light wheeled armoured vehicles. Weapon station is armed with the 7.62 mm machine gun to ensure self-protection of the vehicle at battlefield and fire support to the crew on-board, or to a small airborne group. Six smoke grenade launchers are located on traverse parts of the manipulator to create smoke screen. In order to perform basic operations and weapon targeting the ZSRD 07 is fitted with the sensor system operable during day, at night and under adverse weather conditions.

12.7 mm Weapon Station

ZSRD 08 Weapon Station is designed to be equipped with the 12.7 mm machine gun or the 30 mm grenade launcher mount. ZSRD 08 frame is based on the U-type manipulator with integrated weapon mount including sensor container comprising surveillance TV camera, aiming TV camera, IR camera and laser rangefinder. ZSRD 08 weapon station enables interchange of two types of machine guns for both types of the 12.7 mm rounds (“eastern” and “western”) at field conditions. Derived alternative of the weapon station is the 30 mm automatic grenade launcher variant.
