Czech company EVPÚ Defence a.s. was founded in 2001. Its main actitivies focus on own development, design, production and service of special electro-optical surveillance systems, both static and mobile, TV, infrared and optical sensors, laser rangefinders, two-axis Pan and Tilt positioners, multi-sensor containers, special electro-optical equipment for armed vehicles, tanks, turrets and weapon stations, and relative SW applications. The company is member of the Defence and Security Industry Association (DSIA).

The company offers a wide selektion of products for both the Czech Police and Czech Army, specifically within the actual modernization projects. Let’s have a look at some of these products in more detail.

Gunner sight CRANE SR1G, XSR and SR

Crane XSR

The CRANE is a multi-sensor electro-optical container developed for integration into Remotely controlled Weapon Stations (RWS). This gunner sight is used in short and middle range applications to target objects. Primary it can be used on weapon stations but due its versatility it can also be mounted on armored vehicles, tanks or turrets.

Combination of the sensors inside the container ensures the capability of the system to see in all weather and light conditions. There are three types of sensors – day/night vision and LRF. Day vision is provided by a combination of day and zoom camera with colour and B/W mode for type SR1G and for type XSR is provided by a zoom camera with colour and B/W mode. For both types night vision is provided by an uncooled thermal camera. Range measurements are performed by an eye safe laser range finder.

The body of the container is ruggedized against vibrations and resistant to all weather conditions. The advantage of the container is its relatively small size. Its dimension is designed to be universal for various combinations of sensors.

Commander sight CMS-1

CMS-1

CMS-1 is a multi-sensor electro-optical system developed as a commander sight. All optical sensors are mounted on a gyro-stabilized pan and tilt positioner, allowing a commander to have a clear view on surrounding terrain.

The body of the container is ruggedized against vibrations and resistant to all weather conditions. The whole system is protected with a Armox shield to prevent damage from an indirect hit.

HD day/night cameras, Thermal Imaging cameras

A variety of HD day / night cameras by EVPÚ offer a cost-effective remote control solution with high resolution sensors and, combined with multiple zoom. These products deliver very high quality video in both day and night applications. The lens with a large entrance aperture ensures sufficient light conditions for a high quality video. Sensitive parts of the cameras are placed in a highly ruggedized housing that can provide protection even in the most demanding weather conditions.

Thermal imaging cameras (IR, infrared cameras) produced by EVPÚ Defence are designed to allow trouble-free 24/7 operation. Sensitive parts of the cameras are placed in a highly rugged housing that ensures the protection even in the most demanding weather conditions.

SeeCheck Awarness System

The system is used by the Czech Army on the IVECO LMV 4x4 vehicles, it is mounted on the tracked armoured observation and reconnaissance vehicle sets LOS-M and Sněžka-M deployed by artillery recce units, and on the wheeled infantry fighting vehicles Pandur II CZ 8x8 (communication, and command and control variants which will soon be introduced in service).

The awarness and observation systems and all types of gunner and commander sights and other products of EVPÚ Defence will be presented during the following International Fair of Defence and Security Technology (IDET) in Brno (29th – 31th May).
